My first blog post ever!

Let me start off by saying, I am by no means a professional. My nails are short, my cuticles are dry and rugged, and I am terrible at clean up. This is really just a hobby for me. It is something, however, that I hope to keep getting better and better at! I am always open to constructive criticism...as long as you're not a dick about it. =) Also keep in mind the only camera I have is my phone. With that being said here are some of my favorites designs I have done so far!

I have always had a love for frogs (except for the real ones). I have collected various frog items since I was 12 years old. So naturally, frog nails had to be my very first attempt at any sort of free hand nail art! I was actually quite pleased with how they turned out.

This was my first and most successful attempt thus far at gradient nails. I love the color combination, but was quite surprised at how much of a hassle these were. Some people make it look so easy. Hopefully it is one of those practice makes perfect kinda things, because it really is a neat look. I have come across a couple tutorials that I must try that probably make it much easier than I am making it!

Once I finally got my hands on some nail art pens, I had to try some animal prints! My freehand zebra nails came out much better than I had expected. I love the contrast of the black and pink. It's nice and sassy!

I absolutely LOVE dandelions! These were also surprisingly easy to do. Even after the rum.  ;)

These are a tribute to two of my favorite things. Stars, and the color lime green! I could just stare at these all day! I find it humorous to see the looks on some peoples faces, you can tell they think its way too bright. But for me, the brighter the better!

I recently jumped on the bandwagon of dried flowers as nail art. They are quick, fun, and super adorable!
This mani sort of give me a hippie vibe. Flower power!

For these, I was just messing around, but I like how they turned out. The white stars were stamped, I used a dotting tool for the trail, and for the giant star, I used those star stickers that teachers pass out!

Oh sweet nostalgia! I call these my Lisa Frank nails. As a preteen I was a huge Lisa Frank fan. I had it all. The stickers, the trapper keeper, the pencils, folders and coloring books! I think most girls who grew up in the 90's know what I'm talking about.

When I first heard about magnetic polish, I was awful curious. How on earth do they make those sweet designs?! I rushed to Sally beauty supply and picked up two of the China Glaze magnetix and the magnet. I was amazed at how quick and easy they were to do! When I lack inspiration, or time to do anything crazy, these are definitely my go to design!

My war of stars nails. I am sure you have caught on by now, I kinda like stars. I really can't get enough of them! Darth Vader really helps the theme.

The cherry blossom nails are by far one of the prettiest designs I have done. I got several compliments from complete strangers with these. Another super easy design when you have the right stuff!

Last but not least, these were my St. Patrick's day nails this year. That glitter (that is hard to capture on a cell phone)  is Essie's Shine of the times. I have yet to find a color that it doesn't look amazing on!

Well there you have it! All of my favorite manis so far. I hope you enjoyed them and/or found some inspiration! Feel free to comment or share!
